About Me
A Nashville-native, Katherine Smith, got her start in the floral world while in graduate school at Lipscomb University. She was studying to be a counselor by day, and was creating floral magic and learning from the best florists in Tennessee on weekends. Katherine found an incredible combination in these fields. Florals and Therapy—how do those go together? Yet both of these seemingly opposite fields contain pieces of her calling— to comfort the wounded and overwhelmed and point people back to beauty that can heal and grow us.
Fast forward five years, thousands of client hours, and over a hundred weddings across Tennessee, Katherine still owns her private practice, Provision Counseling, and sees clients while balancing a wedding and event floral business in Nashville. She firmly believes being bi-vocational strengthens her passion and prevents burnout in her work.
The person behind the designs
When she is not working, Katherine’s love for beauty and nature continues. Self-described as “needing to be outside more than the average person”, you will find her enjoying the lush Tennessee hills on hikes or runs. It is in the midst of these Nashville hills that she often finds her favorite foraging spots. She’ll often bring along her current read or book of poetry or connect with friends on hikes.
